Innovative Development: Sun SPOTS
Simon Ritter
Evangelist, Technology Outreach Group, Sun Microsystems |
Sun SPOTs (Small Programmable Object Technology) are an experimental platform for developing wireless sensor network applications. This session will look at the design of the SPOTs and the special virtual machine being used that does not require an operating system. The session will also include several demos of the SPOTs in action.
The demos will show some simple applications of the SPOTs and then a SPOT being used with a data glove to control a 3D desktop environment (we call it the Minority Report demo as it's designed to be like the interface used in that film by Tom Cruise). |
